Malaysian’s Greatest Pride: The Three Towers

0

You know how when you see pictures of Minecraft where people build very complex buildings and you feel inferior when your house is a cube? That is what architect firms do, coming up with designs that look appealing both on the outside and inside. Architect firms work along with their clients in order to create the ideal designs for their clients that would both look good and efficient when they go into business. It is one of the main reasons why no matter which shopping malls you go to, they all have their unique design and layout that does not feel like a copy-and-paste from another mall. Take Tesco for example, no matter which Tesco you go, you will always end up finding something that is missing from the Tesco that you always visit near your location. Malaysia has one of the most popular landmarks in the whole world, making it a popular tourist spot for both locals and foreigners to visit thanks to a certain company that helped in the creation of these towers.

KLCC Holdings Sdn Bhd is probably the most popular architect firm in Malaysia who were responsible for the construction of Malaysia’s most famous twin towers, Petronas Twin Towers and worked with Argentine architect Cesar Pelli. It was known as the tallest building in the world between the years of 1998 to 2004 until Taipei 101 was constructed and surpassed the twin towers, claiming the title of tallest building in the world. Today, it remains as the landmark of Malaysia attracting many tourists and locals alike to this location to shop within or around the Twin Towers’ vicinity. Events such as Comic Fiesta, Popular Bookfest and Petrosains Science Festival use Twin Towers as a method to attract outsiders to their event by hosting in nearby convention centres that are reachable by public transports.

Standing alongside with the Twin Towers is the Menara Kuala Lumpur, or the Kuala Lumpur Tower, which stands slightly shorter than the Twin Towers but it is almost as memorable as you can’t miss it once you find the Twin Towers. The Kuala Lumpur Tower, or KL Tower, is the tallest telecommunication in Malaysia and is ranked number seven in the world. It is also considered as “the only tower built within a forest” as they are built within Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve. The tower itself has a wide variety of entertainment sites for visitors ranging from a mini zoo and an aquarium to an observation deck. Visiting either towers would keep one busy with so many different malls and entertainment sites that it warrants multiple trips back and forth to experience them all.

No matter where you are in Kuala Lumpur, you can see the Twin Towers and KL Towers glowing from the distance at night with  the fountain outside of the Twin Towers would have fountain performance where all tourists and locals gather around it to witness its performance. When witnessing the towers from afar, one can’t help but to feel proud as a Malaysian seeing these towers standing tall for many years.
